Man Charged with Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm

33 year old Sterling Kepano Carreira is charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm.

Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputies say Carreira got into a fight with James Richard Hines around five Wednesday evening at a home on Okaloosa Island.

Carreira told investigators that he and Hines got into an argument, Hines stood up in an aggressive manner so Carreira he hit him in the head three times and kicked him several more times.

Paramedics air-lifted Hines to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola where he is in Critical Condition.
