Classmates of three Sneads High School students, who died in a car wreck earlier this month, are trying to build a memorial for their friends. The Sophomore class has organized a benefit at the Marianna Beef O'Brady's on Monday, October 1.
The event is from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. All proceeds will go toward funding a permanent memorial marker on the school's campus to remember Teddy Jeter (15), Bo McClamma (16) and Brandon Hobbs (16).
The three teens were killed in a car accident on September 6.
State troopers reported Jeter was traveling east on Sandridge Church Road when he lost control of the car and hit a tree. Two of the boys died at the scene, and the third died at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
"I have never seen a community pull together with so much love and compassion for every family that's involved in this" said Bernyce Wilmot, a friend of the Jeter family. "It just has impacted the whole community. There just is an outpouring of love for everybody."
Marianna High School plans to donate a bible in honor of the boys to the Sneads High football team after the two teams play in Marianna Friday night.
