Hundreds of people celebrated Military Appreciation Day at the Bay Point Marina Saturday.
This year marks the fourth time the Veterans Task Force has put on the event.
Nearly a year of planning went into the event, where current and former members of the military could enjoy themselves by fishing and spending time with family and friends.
One veteran tells us he plans to welcome all active military members home.
He wants to help them through some of the issues they may be facing.
"When we look at these young men, we see ourselves," says Larry Bruce, "Most of us were the same age as them when we went into the military. We know first hand what they are going through."
The event cost about $9,000 to put together and hundreds of volunteers showed up to help out.
