Greenwood- Neighbor Sherry McGriff was one of the last people to see 25 year old mother of four, Krista Stevenson alive at a club called George Barnes in Marianna Sunday night.
"She was just telling us it was her first time there and she hoped she'd have a good time and we told her she would, you know? And that was all I saw of her that night" said neighbor Sherry McGriff.
But Stevenson's hopes for a good night took a tragic turn for the worst.
"There was an incident that took place at a night club a little earlier in the evening and there might have been some issues there where they came into an argument" Jackson County Sheriff, Lou Roberts Explained. "We don't know if that's what led to the incident at this trailer or not."
But Roberts did know that once back home to their trailer on Front Road. Early Monday morning, Stevenson called 911 claiming her boyfriend and the father of two of her four children, 38 year old Andrew Johnson was threatening to kill her.
Dispatchers allegedly could hear the situation escalating in the background. Responders raced to the scene but found Stevenson stabbed multiple times. She died shortly after they arrived and the hunt for Johnson began.
"An individual to do what he did to this young lady- we consider [Johnson] possibly armed and very dangerous" Roberts told us.
Johnson has had had past run in's with the sheriff's office and Marianna police department and spent some time in prison for sexual battery. It was frightening news for McGriff, who has been living with her daughter and four children just feet away.
"That's scary" McGriff said. "That's really scary because i just moved from Miami and have never been this close to anything like that. It's just really scary."
And even scarier knowing Johnson was still on the loose.
"Somebody knows where this man is" Roberts said. "Somebody knows where he's staying as we speak and we need that individual to come forth. He could be in our county or in an adjoining county, we just don't know. But we need to get this man off the streets."
