State Troopers say a motorcyclist was killed when he hit a couple of cars on the Bob Sikes bridge and was then thrown off his bike into Escambia Bay.
According to the accident report, Kevin Michael Roland Small, 42, of Pace, was traveling north on Highway 98 from Santa Rosa Island towards Gulf Breeze at 11:30 p.m. Saturday. He tried to squeeze between two cars in front of him at an “excessive rate of speed.”
Small hit the left side of a Ford Explorer, then veered left, possibly striking a Ford Mustang before hitting the guardrail which ejected him off the bridge into Escambia Bay.
Small did not survive.
