The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office was investigating a fatal accident Saturday that killed a motorcyclist.

33 year Glenn Lowell was killed when his motorcyclist collide with an SUV driven by 36 year old Edina Nicoloff.

Sheriff's Officials revealed Lowell was an active duty member of the military on Sunday.

Sheriff's Officials said the crash happened around 11 Saturday morning on Highway 98 westbound in front of the Sunsations department store near Walmart.

Eyewitnesses said they saw Lowell's motorcycle collide with Nicoloff's SUV, ejecting Lowell from his bike. His body reportedly flipped several times in the air before hitting the ground. They tell NewsChannel 7 he wasn't wearing a helmet, but investigators did not confirm nor deny that detail Saturday. Paramedics rushed Lowell to Sacred Heart where he was pronounced dead.

Both westbound lanes were shut down for several hours as traffic homicide officials investigated. Eastbound traffic was reduced to one lane as westbound traffic used the other to get around the accident. All lanes reopened Saturday night.

The condition of Nicoloff was not known Saturday night, and the exact cause of the fatal accident was still under investigation.
