Murder Suspect Held without Bond

The local man charged in Wednesday's shooting in the Glenwood community made his latest court appearance Thursday afternoon.

Bay County judge Joe Grammer ordered 28 year old Michael Ray Davis held without bond on an open count of murder. Judge Grammer also declared that Davis violated his probation on a 2007 drug arrest, and ordered him jailed on that as well.

Panama City Police say Davis shot and killed 38 year old Leonard Price, also known as Charles Banks, early Wednesday morning.

Neighbors around the 1400 block of Carver Drive say they heard the gunshots around midnight. When Panama City Police officers arrived, they say they found banks dead from several gunshot wounds.

Authorities remained tight-lipped about the investigation Thursday, refusing to release details like a motive or the suspect's relationship to the victim.

It will be up to a grand jury to indict Davis and determine what degree of murder he would face.
