The event kicked off at The Love Center Missionary Baptist Church,to install the new officers of the Bay County Branch of the NAACP which were elected late last year.

One of the officers is a Circuit Judge of the 14th Judicial Circuit Elijah Smiley.

The celebration included lots of music, a presentation of original artwork, dance numbers, and poems.

Dinah Crayton is First Vice President, NAACP in Bay County. "The whole objective, since this is Black History Month, we didn't want to compete with other activities, but to try to buttress those activities with something global and spiritual in nature, and also all encompassing."

Our very own Neysa Wilkins was there to sing a few songs and join in on the festivities
