The Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport has hired Parker W. McClellan, Jr. as its next executive director. McClellan, who has served as the deputy executive director of ECP for three years, will take over for John Wheat on April 5.
“Naming Parker executive director was a clear choice for the board,” said Board Chairman John Pilcher. “Parker will ensure a seamless transition and strong leadership as the airport continues to grow.”
McClellan has more than 25 years of aviation experience. Prior to joining ECP, McClellan served as senior director of airports for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.
“I’m honored that the board has given me this opportunity,” said McClellan. “We will continue work to expand air service and provide the most convenient travel experience possible for our passengers.”
McClellan replaces Wheat who is leaving to become the director of airports for Sacramento County, California.
