National Marine Day Celebrated at Port St. Joe

Port St. Joe celebrated National Marina Day by inviting guests out to the docks to enjoy some good weather and good company.

The docks were crowded with more than 250 people.

In addition to a nautical flea market, guests could also receive a free vessel check to make sure their boat was ready for the snapper fishing season.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation was joined by the Coast Guard and Visit Gulf Florida.

The day provided hours of entertainment for local fishermen and tourists alike bur Marina manager Clara Landry says her favorite part was just seeing her guests mingle.

"The most is seeing people come out and visit the marina and, you know, they're enjoying it. It's a great view to have also. You know, look at the boats, walk the docks. You might find a boat that you buy today."

Last year, the annual June 8th event was rained out.

This year, Landry says they took extra precautions to make sure there would be no weather surprises.
