New Years' Eve Preparations In Full Swing

Preparations are in full swing at Pier Park for the midnight beach ball drop, but that's not the only thing they're setting up for New Years' Eve.

Volunteers are working to blow up 10,000 beach balls for the inflated beach ball drop taking place at 8 pm on Monday.

The beach ball drop is set up for children and families who may not be able to stick around for the fun until midnight.

"Children, of course, can't stay up until midnight, I don't know that I can stay up til midnight, but I'm going to try," says Pier Park spokesperson Les Morris, "we undergo the premise, it's midnight somewhere, like in Brazil."

Besides both beach ball drops, families an also expect plenty of entertainment, from live music to fireworks.
