Preparations are in high gear for Monday night's New Years' Eve festivities.

Over the weekend, 10,000 beach balls were blown up to prepare for the family NYE celebration kicking off at 8 pm. The party will end with fireworks so children can be a part of bringing in 2013.

For adults staying up to welcome in the new year, event organizers say this year will be bigger and better than last year.

The NYE celebration will kick off at 5:30 pm with a family celebration including stilt walkers, mascots and live entertainment.

After the family inflated beach ball drop, the big party will begin with remarks from local officials and more performances to include a headliner performance from James Otto.

At midnight, the 800 pound beach ball with drop to welcome in the new year and a firework show to remember will begin.
