NewsChannel 7 & Clearchannel Team Up to Host Annual Food Drive

This time of year, there’s a huge demand on local charity organizations to help family’s in-need.

ClearChannel Radio media partners and NewsChannel 7 held the annual Harvest Food Drive at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Lynn Haven.

They collected non-perishable food items for the Salvation Army’s food pantry and the Panama City Rescue Mission.

The Bay County Fire Services has teamed with us as a new sponsor this year and will be collecting donations well into December.

"Well it is that time of year its Thanksgiving time, its Christmas time I'm so excited about this, it’s a big event, it's that time that we need it. The families come to us for Thanksgiving meals and they come to us for Christmas meals and we want to be able to provide it for them,” said Shae Wells.

"They are going to be continuing the food drive through December 20th and you can donate at any of the local Bay county fire stations throughout the county. They'll have boxes to receive," said Lt. Brian Welborn with the Bay County Fire Department.

The drive will ultimately feed around 1,000 families in the Bay County area.
