PANAMA CITY, FL-- North Bay Haven Charter Academy opened its doors to students for the first time Tuesday, but not all students made it to first period on time.
Traffic flow has been congested in the mornings since the school is only accessible by two lane state route 390. Administrators are requiring high school students who drive themselves to arrive by 7:15 a.m.
On Tuesday, only about half of the 145 student drivers arrived on time. School officials said safety is the priority.
They're not marking students tardy to first period this week, because they don't want students to speed to beat the traffic.
