Jay Odom was sentenced to six months in federal prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to a charge of making illegal contributions in the 2008 presidential primary campaign.
Odom admitted to engineering an illegal scheme to funnel money to former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's campaign.
In exchange for the plea, prosecutors dropped a charge of violating election laws. Odom had faced up to five years in prison and up to 250-thousand dollars in fines.
