Okaloosa Traffic Fatality

The new Okaloosa County flyover has just opened for traffic in the last few days and already it’s been the setting for a traffic fatality.

Thursday night at 11:15 PM 27 year old Larry Shane Patrick of Niceville was killed on State Road 123 just north of State Road 85 when he lost control of his car.

The Florida Highway Patrol says Patrick left the roadway in an area where it reduced from two lanes to one. He traveled a considerable distance through a ditch, vaulted off a concrete culvert and crashed into several trees and then tumbled onto the grassy shoulder of the highway.

He died at the scene.
