Representatives from the US Olympics Synchronized Swim team were in Panama City Beach Thursday to see if the location could possibly be a home for the team.
The, Duke Zielinkski, President of the team, as well as gold medalist Karen Josephson both spent time evaluating the swimming facilities at Frank Brown Park. Both agreed that the location has a good community feeling and that they could see it becoming home for the team.
While Panama City Beach has turned down the request to pay for a bubble dome to cover the pool, necessary to practice all year round, representatives are confident they will be able to raise the funds necessary to fulfill that requirement.
The official announcement for where the team will call their home will not be made until after the Olympics have finished.
