PC Man Who Filed False BP Claim Gets Prison Time

US District Judge Richard Smoak has sentenced 46 year old Daniel Marlow, Jr. to 21 months in prison for one count of wire fraud.

Marlow pled guilty to the charge in September, as he was about to go on trial for stealing 13,000 dollars from the BP claims process.

Marlow filed the claim shortly after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded. Marlow claimed he lost his chef's job at Sharky's restaurant in Panama City Beach.

Turns out, he was fired 3 months before the explosion for failing to show-up for work.

Besides the 21 month sentence, Judge Smoak placed Marlow on 3-years probation after his release and ordered him to payback the 13,000 dollars.
