Panama City Police are looking for the person or people who stole a new vehicle from a local dealership over the weekend and stripped it to its skeleton. It was a 2013 Mazda CX-9 from John Lee Nissan Mazda off 23rd Street, fully loaded and valued at $38,000.

The crook or crookes took everything from the wheels, seats, and lights, to the doors right off the hinges. John Lee Nissan workers told NewsChannel 7 the last time they saw the SUV on the lot was sometime Saturday aftternoon, and once it didn't turn back up the next day, they said they reported it missing Monday.

Then Tuesday around 4:00 p.m. or 5:00 p.m. Bay County Sheriffs officials said they discovered it in a wooded area in the Wild Heron subdivision on the west end of Panama City Beach.

Sales Manager James Lett said what was most bizarre about this case is whoever did it left the remnants in remarkable shape.

"Wow, in my 20 plus years in the car business I've never seen anything like it. I got to believe professionals had to do this job, just clean picking," said Lett.

Investigators wouldn't immediately say if they had any suspects. If you have any information about the crime, call the Panama City Police Department at (850) 872-3112.
