PANAMA CITY BEACH-- Panama City Beach City Council Members are taking steps to clean up spring break.
At the council meeting earlier Thursday Panama City Beach Mayor Gayle Oberst announced plans to buy three K-9 units. She says the dogs are a step in the right direction in controlling drug use on the beach during spring break.
This after Panama City Beach Police Chief Drew Whitman and City Manager Mario Gisbert met with dozens of residents to talk about ways to control the rowdy crowds.
All three dogs will cost the city around $68,000. Council members will get together at the next meeting to talk about the addition.
