Panama City Police Department arrested 38 year old William Davis Tuesday evening and charged him with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and resisting an officer.
Panama City Police officers responded to the area of 6th Street and Massalina Drive in reference to a disturbance call. Officers located Davis who was uncooperative and resisted the efforts of officers to detain him.
Two victims and a witness approached officers and stated Davis used a knife to threaten one of them during a struggle. Officers and detectives learned that Davis was walking in the area with two adult males and a female.
As they were walking, Davis pulled the female into a wooded area and threw her to the ground, attempting to pull her pants down when one of the males intervened and stopped Davis. A struggle ensued between the male and Davis when Davis pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened the male, ending the struggle as police arrived on scene.
Officers located and recovered a knife from Davis possession. Detectives learned that the male who intervened and stopped Davis is the son of the female victim.
Davis was arrested and transported to the Bay County Jail for the charges.
