Gulf residential customers using 1,000 kilowatt hours will see a $9.92 decrease in their total monthly bill effective July 2.
The PSC usually reviews and determines fuel charges annually in November to reflect changing fuel costs. Gulf requested this mid-course adjustment due to lower fuel prices. Florida’s investor-owned utilities are not allowed to earn a profit on the cost of fuel to generate electricity.
Gulf will notify its more than 431,000 customers in eight Northwest Florida counties through a July bill insert.
