Beth Oltman has resigned her position as the President & CEO of the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce.
According to a statement by the chamber, Oltman plans to focus on her family and personal life.
“We wish Beth success in all future endeavors and thank her for her service to the Beach Chamber," said Paul Wohlford, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce.
Wohlford tells News Channel 7 Oltman’s resignation has "absolutely nothing" to do with her arrest on shoplifting charges.
Police say Oltman stole two candy bars from the Dillard’s at Pier Park on Labor Day. Those charges were later dropped. The chief state attorney says surveillance video of the incident was not enough evidence to prosecute.
The Board of Directors is beginning the search for Oltman’s replacement.
