Panama City Beach Firefighters Recognized

PANAMA CITY BEACH-- Panama City Beach city leaders recognized three firefighters Tuesday morning after the trio rescued a woman from a fire last month.

Friends, co-workers, beach officials and family members gathered at Fire Station Number 1 where Chief Jon Daily awarded Lieutenant Shawn Fiddler and firefighters Tim Smith and Craig Robarts with the awards.

The three men pulled a woman out of her mobile home after it caught fire. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for her burns.

"That's where the training kicks in. It becomes muscle memory and you go through certain motions, it seems like forever but it's probably a matter of minutes when it all unfolds," Robarts said.

The men say their training is what makes them react to emergency situations without having to think about it.
