PANAMA CITY, Fla A Panama City policeman charged with strangling and beating his girlfriend was back in court Tuesday. Durandell Daniels is accused of strangling his girlfriend and hitting her.
Lynn Haven Police arrested him March 12, 2014, on one count of domestic battery by strangulation and one count of battery-domestic violence. He allegedly used what's known as an arm-bar to cut off the woman's breath twice, then hit her in the head.
Last week a judge released him under a pre-trial intervention program. He was rearrested Monday on an aggravated stalking charge.
Tuesday the judge allow the pre-trial release to stand, because the stalking incident supposedly happened prior to the domestic violence incident.
Daniels has been a Panama City police officer for five years. He's currently on paid administrative leave.
