The Panama City Police Explorers are working hard to spread holiday cheer in Bay County.
Friday, the Explorers and officers with the Panama City Police Department met with a class from Oscar Patterson Elementary School at WonderWorks in Panama City Beach.
The elementary students knew they were in for a fun day, expecting a field trip at WonderWorks, but they had no idea the Explorers went shopping for the class for Christmas.
Many of the Explorers used money out of their own pockets.
"It's a lot of work when you put it all together, but looking at the smiles on the kids' faces it's all worth it and it's also teaching our Explorers a very valuable lesson as far as what community service means," said Sergeant Chris Edmundson.
The Explorers are young men and women interested in a career in law enforcement.
