Panama City Police Honor Fallen Officers of 2012

Panama City, FL--The Panama City Police Department along with other Police Agencies gathered today to honor the fallen Officers from 2012.

Last year 5 Florida Police Officers and Deputies in Florida gave the ultimate sacrifice when they were killed during the line of duty.

Along with a 21 gun salute there was also a bag pipe performance as officers stood in formation to honor their fallen brothers and sisters.

Chief Scott Ervin discusses the risk each Officer knows they are taking,

"When we enter the oath and take our Oath of Office we don't enter into that lightly. We know that anyone of us on any day whether it be our first day on the job or our last day on the job you know it could come time for us to have to pay that ultimate sacrifice. We become close. We become just like family. So it's no different than losing a sibling or a parent in those regards so it's very difficult for us to lose someone in the line of duty."

The Police Memorial Week begins Saturday and last until the 17th.
