A fifth grade class from Panama City got a close up look at the legislative session's final, hectic day Friday in Tallahassee.
The Parker Elementary students were honored in the House gallery and got a picture with State Representative Jimmy Patronis.
Teacher Maggie Odom says the trip had two objectives. "We're here to learn about the government and the process that we've used to established our government. But mostly we also wanted to recognized Alexis Parks. Alexis read well over 450 books in a matter of a year and a half and accumulated the most accelerated reader points.”
"I didn't do it for a special purpose. I like reading so I took the test and I got that many," said Alexis.
The kids were all smiles....unlink many lawmakers on the session’s final day.
