Parker's police chief, Charles Sweatt was watching the June 16th Tampa Bay Rays baseball game at Tropicana Field when St. Petersburg police say he was hit in the thigh with a bullet.
The contact with the bullet only caused a bruise, but police still don't know where the bullet come from. Police say there was a drive by shooting about a mile away close to the time Sweatt was hit, but they say it could have been celebratory gunfire from inside the stadium.
Coincidentally, the bruise is on the same leg that Sweatt claimed former Parker city manager Adonna Mullen with her car. Sweatt was trying to arrest Mullen at the time on charges related to an air condition she'd reported stolen.
Officials from the Parker Police Department told us he'd rather not comment on the shooting incident because of the on going Mullen investigation.
