The crash happened a little after noon Friday near the intersection of East 11th Street and Redwood Avenue.
Police say the driver of a tractor trailer was heading east on 11th, trying to turn onto Redwood. They say he hit 39 year old Brandy Carter who was walking along the side of the road.
Paramedics took Carter to Bay Medical Center where Doctors pronounced her dead.
Police did not reopen the intersection until an hour ago.
The crash is still under investigation.
