Philip Griffitts Hospitalized

Panama City Beach’s former Mayor Philip Griffitts is resting comfortably after suffering what a family member says was a heart attack Friday morning.

Griffitts, who served almost two decades at the Beach Mayor, is reported to be in good condition and undergoing cardiac related tests.

His wife Jerrilyn, is quoted as saying he’s doing much better today but remains hospitalized for the time being at Bay Medical Center.

Griffitts and his family own and operate several beach area motels.
