It's a huge Mardi Gras weekend here in the south but bad weather postponed events in Mobile and in New Orleans Saturday and the Mardi Gras parade at the Destin Commons was also put on hold--but things in Panama City Beach carried on.
The shopping mall at Pier Park turned into a mini-Bourbon Street as thousands of residents and visitors showed up to celebrate. This weekend's festivities included a treasure hunt, costume contest and several events for the kids. Despite the threat of severe weather, the line-up of festivities continued as planned through the night.
