Port St. Joe Man Charged with 2 Counts of Arson & Burglary

Florida Chief Financial Officer and State Fire Marshal Jeff Atwater today says Jarrod Powell Slick, of Port St. Joe, has been arrested after a joint investigation involving the Port St. Joe Police Department and the State Fire Marshal’s Office, Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigation determined that he was responsible for burglarizing and setting fire on two separate dates to the St. Joe Masonic Lodge.

On December 14, 2012 and December 24, 2012, the Port St Joe Fire & Police Departments responded to a structure fire at 214 Reid Ave in Port St Joe. The State Fire Marshall's office was requested to aid in the fire scene investigation. Investigators determined in both incidences that the fires were intentionally set. The structure received minimal damage on December 14, 2012 and was a total loss on December 24, 2012.

On March 6, 2013, Investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for Jarrod Powell Slick. Slick was arrested and booked into the Bay County Jail on charges of two counts of arson and two counts of burglary. If convicted, Slick could face up to 30 years in prison and pay a fine of up to $40,000.
