A power outage at lift station 41 located on East 6th street in Panama City resulted in around 750 gallons of untreated wastewater to flow into a storm drain that empties into Massalina Bayou.
Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria and parasites.
Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in Massalina Bayou between 6th Street and Beach Drive until further notice.
