PANAMA CITY-- Kyle Wasicak is a currency trader who works from home. Like many, he hasn't devised a hurricane preparedness plan.

"I never have actually even thought about that. My livelihood definitely depends on electricity and the internet. I would probably have to pack up my laptop and find relatives or go far north," says Wasicak.

In preparation for hurricane season, Gulf Power has launched a new app, that allows you will let you report outages and track where crews are in the power recovery process.

" The alerts will also let them know when there power is restored. That is a great feature for our customers," said a Gulf Power spokesperson.

You can download all the apps featured in this story in the Apple app store and the Google play store.
