WASHINGTON COUNTY-- A Washington County judge set the pretrial date Wednesday morning for two Alabama men indicted in the murder of a local man.
Both 23 year old Zachary Wood and 21 year old Dillion Rafsky will go before a judge on October 16, for a pretrial in the murder of James Shores.
Back in April, investigators say the pair was mudding in a stolen Jeep before ransacking Shores' home.
Once Shores' arrived home, he found the two men and told them to leave.
But authorities say they beat Shores with a garden hose, tied him up, tried to set him on fire, then shot him in the back of the head.
The pair will likely be tried early next year outside of Washington County.
The two are also facing attempted murder charges in Alabama for allegedly shooting a state trooper.
