Prison Time and Hefty Fine for Prescription Drug Dealer

The man responsible for operating a prescription drug ring in Southport, that was at the center of a deadly home invasion 2-years ago, is going to prison for 15-years.

Circuit Judge James Fensom pronounced the sentence this morning on 66-year-old Michael A. Norman.

A local jury deliberated just an hour last month before convicting Norman of several felonies, including drug trafficking.

Bay County sheriff's investigators discovered the pill operation when the responded to a shooting incident at Norman's Jefferson Avenue home on May 11th, 2010. Norman shot and killed 2-young men who forced their way inside to rob him and his roommate Daniel Nelson.

Nelson ended-up taking a plea deal to testify against Norman. Beside the 15-years, Norman must also pay a 100-thousand dollar fine.
