WASHINGTON COUNTY Washington County Courthouse Officials are still in the beginning stages of getting the new courthouse up and running.
Earlier today, the committee, along with the courthouse's architectural firm, met to discuss next steps.
They briefly went over the design for office space, parking, and plans for selecting the construction management firm.
They’re still working to finalize the contract with the architectural firm chosen in July.
The committee hopes to open the courthouse by the fall of 2016.
"We've put together a very challenging schedule,” explained committee member and County Commissioners Chairman Alan Bush. “Both for our committees, as well as the architect, and of course the construction manager when we get one of those selected. It's a very aggressive schedule. But we are trying to get into a courthouse facility as soon as possible."
Courthouse officials will hold a public meeting on September 8th to talk about possible construction management firms.
