Rain Blamed For Raw Sewage Spill

PANAMA CITY BEACH Bay County health officials are blaming the heavy rain for a nasty situation at the beach.

They say rain caused the lift station near Joan Avenue and North Lagoon Drive to overflow, spilling raw sewage into Grand Lagoon.

The health department says you should avoid swimming in Grand Lagoon until further notice.

Swimming in water contaminated with raw sewage can expose you to intestinal viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
