Red Cross Could Open Shelter in Rersponse to Area Flooding

Local Red Cross leadership, in coordination with Emergency Managers in Gulf, Holmes and Washington Counties, announced Monday that plans are being made for possible shelter openings in response to flooding.

Red Cross Logistics and Mass Care volunteers began on Friday to prepare for possible shelter openings.

Emergency Managers in all area counties continue to monitor the developing situation.

In the event that shelters are needed, Emergency Management and Red Cross will announce the specific location and opening time for each shelter.

Further announcements are expected to be made around 4:00 Monday afternoon.
