Panama City Beach One man is injured after he collided with a gold Toyota Corolla at the intersection of Front Beach Rd. and Laurie Ave. around 1:05 p.m. Monday.

Sergeant Bill Brotherston of the Bay County Sheriff's Office was at the intersection at the time of the accident.

He says Samuel Morrison, 20, took a wide turn onto Laurie Ave. The driver of the Corolla says he swerved to avoid a head-on collision. The driver says Morrison hit the windshield with his shoulder.

Morrison is visiting the area from Alabama. He was taken to Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center. Brotherston says Morrison was conscious and complained of back pain and cuts on his leg.

Morrison was riding a scooter that he rented from Panama City Beach's King of Scooters at the time of the accident, according to Brotherston.

Brotherston says Morrison and his friends, who were uninjured, were wearing reflective vests and protective sunglasses at the time of the collision.

Brotherston says Highway Patrol officers will investigate the accident.
