Bay County Health officials say it is once again safe to swim in the gulf in Mexico Beach.
The Health Department posted the no swimming advisory last week after untreated sewage spilled into the gulf.
A power outage to a sewage lift station allowed the sewage to spill into a drainage ditch that flows into the 8th Street canal which empties into the gulf.
As a result, authorities warned swimmers to stay out of the water between 6th and 13th Streets.
Tuesday, officials received satisfactory bacteriological test results and are rescinding the no swimming advisory.
The news comes the day before the 4th of July holiday, one of the busiest weeks for Mexico Beach tourism.
