Veteran’s Day may be set for Monday, but several local groups are trying to find ways to honor military members all year long especially those who've fallen on hard times.

Rutherford High School's Junior ROTC is helping area veterans by donating clothes and other items.

Its part of the movers for military program and members of the Junior ROTC teamed up with the local Two Men and a Truck company.

Junior ROTC members brought in about four boxes worth of clothes, shoes, and personal hygiene items that totaled up to be about 75 pounds.

"A lot of people don't realize that, they don't get the help that they should and I think it's good that the people who do this is asking us to do this for them," said Bethany Macklin.

The Movers for Military program collected more than 15,000 items last year that they donated across the state to veterans.

Members of the Rutherford High Junior ROTC say they plan on donating to this cause again next year.
