Southeast Alabama Police: Officers Shot, Wounded Man with Gun

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama authorities are investigating after two police officers shot and wounded a man while responding to a domestic violence call.
The shooting happened in Enterprise at about 4 a.m. Saturday. Enterprise police issued a news release saying two officers had been dispatched to a mobile home after getting a call about domestic violence.
Police say the officers were approaching the front door a man swung it open and pointed a gun at them. The officers fired and struck the man twice in the hip.
The wounded man's name was not immediately released. Police say he was expected to recover after undergoing surgery. One officer suffered a minor elbow wound.
The officers were placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation
