Salvage Santa Delivers His Christmas Load

Salvage Santa lightened his load this morning at the Northside Baptist Church Annex but this year was different than others.

Organizations that requested the donations from Salvage Santa decided to pick them the gifts as a group and then they will give them out at gatherings for children over this holiday season.

This makes it a little easier on Salvage Santa. It gives him more time to fix up more bikes for those who didn’t get a chance to register in time.

This year was a record breaking year for bikes with over 400 bikes being given away.

"Well you know that's almost three times as many bikes as we've ever had and so we were pretty happy. We couldn't do it with out the people of Bay County. This just, when they look around and see these in here they should be proud of themselves, because they put this together and I just organized it and build them ,and have fun getting to give them away," said Mike Jones.

After speaking to Santa Monday morning, his only wish for Christmas is a 20 by 30 storage building to store all the bikes and toys. Right now, it takes about 10 storage sheds to store his haul and the locations are widespread.
