Publix has partnered with United Way to help students in need get new supplies for the school year.
The 5 Publix stores in Bay County each have a school bus in their parking lot to promote the joint effort. The School Tools For Cool Kids program brought in close to $3,000 worth of supplies last year, this year they hope to bring that number up to $5,000.
Customers can either drop off supplies for students at their local Publix or buy one of the prepackaged supply kits designated for different grade levels.
The packages will be going to Bay County's 17 Title 1 schools. The program ends on August 20th.
