Second Baby Giraffe Arrives In Panama City Beach

Zoo World will introduce a second baby giraffe Tuesday afternoon.

The Zoological and Botanical Conservatory, located on Front Beach Road, purchased Elliot in November from a zoo in Virginia for $25,000.They’ve been trying to find a friend for him ever since.

Elliot replaced Sydney who died in July. Protestors fought to stop Zoo World from getting more giraffes, claiming the enclosures are too small. But Zoo World maintains its giraffe enclosures are three times what both the USDA and Florida Fish & Wildlife require.

You can see the new baby giraffe standing next to Elliot in the photo on the right.

Zoo World will introduce her at a news conference Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
