Body of Missing Swimmer in Gulf Has Been Found

UPDATE 4:55PM: Within the last hour, The body of 18 year old Yafet A. Yaseph was found in the Gulf of Mexico. The teen went missing yesterday afternoon and police officials have been working around the clock to find him.

Around 5:30 Tuesday evening, the Walton County Sheriff's Office received a report that a Teenage boy gone into the Gulf of Mexico in the Seaside area and did not return.

The missing youth has been identified as 18 year old Yafet A. Yaseph who was vacationing here from Tennessee.

He went missing in the gulf behind Bud and Alley's restaurant in the exclusive Seaside community.

Members of the Sheriff's Office Beach Patrol, the South Walton Fire District and the U-S Coast Guard are all involved in the search and rescue operation.

Lt. Robert Gray of the Walton Co. Sheriff's Office says there are 4-different teams searching the water and the beach. “At 5:33 we got a report of a missing male subject in the water. We responded. Lifeguards entered the water. We were unable to locate the subject at the time. Currently, we have a helo in route with a flare system and we're going to be looking in the water with the flare system throughout the night and also patrolling the beach and we'll also be out here tomorrow, canvassing the beach.”

Sheriff's Captain Audie Rowell told NewsChannel 7 at the time this occurred red flags were flying. Currently the Walton County Sheriff's Office along with the Coast Guard have been searching the area for the subject since his disappearance, and are still actively searching at this time.
