The VIPIR7 Weather Team has declared Wednesday a Severe Weather Alert Day here in Northwest Florida.
A strong cold front could bring damaging wind and even a small risk of tornadoes to our region. The most likely timing appears to be from around Noon until 5pm.
While the risk of severe weather appears to be highest to our west and north of us we will still have a risk here in the panhandle. Here is a map showing the storm reports over the past 3 hours from the Storm Prediction Center.
The main threat with this system will be damaging winds with a smaller tornado risk.
Our VIPIR Computer model shows the line moving into the western panhandle around Noon on Wednesday.
