They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. The Bay County Sheriff's Office turned their trash into a treasure chest of cash Saturday.
The Sheriff's Office auctioned off surplus equipment and vehicles Saturday morning. Items included 60 cars and trucks, motorcycles, a school bus, electronics, used tires and scrap metal.
300 bidders spent $80,000 on the merchandise.
The money will be used to buy new equipment and vehicles for the Sheriff's Office.
